Katherine and I just returned from our new home in Little Neck Bay. While there , we had our roof replaced by Fraser Construction.
We were very impressed! We have remodeled several properties, and owned many homes between the two of us, but we have found no one who was as prompt, knowledgeable, responsive, and great to work with than Dean Fraser.
What a professional organization, from Patti, in the office, to his roofing crew, and Dean himself. EVERY PROMISE, particularly completing the job on time, was met! In fact he completed the job before the completion time! In addition, his work was “TOP QUALITY”. Every day the property was cleaned, and all debris was removed. The work began at 7:30 AM and went on without delay, until late—very late. There was a sense of pride, teamwork, and comraderie evident in the large crew.

We just wanted to take a minute to thank Fraser Construction for the great job on our new roof. In the 20+ years we have owned our home we have used many contractors for various projects and this is the FIRST time we have ever written a follow up testimonial. That is an indication of how impressed we are with Fraser Construction.
We went through a very thorough process in the selection of a contractor and the legwork definitely paid off. We were totally impressed with the entire process from our initial contact with you right through the completed job. Your communication was prompt, friendly, and professional and gave an accurate indication of what kind of people we would be dealing with. We researched MANY roofing contractors and selected six well known firms to quote the job. Our reasons for selecting your firm were numerous. We felt Dean Fraser was a consummate professional (as well as a gentleman) from his initial visit. He did not denigrate other competing contractors nor those that had done work for us previously. He simply pointed out what he felt was improperly done in the past and offered his recommendations on the best way to rectify these issues.
Dean was the most thorough in examining our roof (he actually crawled into our eaves) and he was the only one to discover that our roof was not ventilated properly due to the fiberglass insulation lying flush against the underside of our roof decking. He explained that he would remedy this by installing ventilation panels between the insulation and the plywood sheathing of the roof allowing air to circulate from the eaves to the ridge. We have always had a very noticeable "hump" in the front of our roof where an addition was tied into the original house. Dean was the only one to propose a remedy as part of our re-roofing project. He explained what caused the hump and suggested shaving down the rafters and reinstalling plywood across the rafters rather than having the plywood sheets meet at that point. The result is amazing. The roof no longer looks like two separate units pushed together but rather like one continuous unit. This one suggestion made a tremendous difference in the appearance of our home and the cost of both of these remedies was minimal. Speaking of cost, your quote for the project which included replacement of two skylights, residing the dormer cheeks, and doing a cover over of two outbuildings was very competitive. Your detailed quote was easy to understand and inclusive of all costs. There were no surprises.
We'd also like to thank you personally for your assistance while we went through the product selection process. Your patience with us was much appreciated and resulted in our choosing what we feel is exactly the right shingle for our home. The comments of many neighbors indicates that they agree.
Kudos to your crew as well. They arrived early on the date promised and worked tirelessly until late that evening. A neighbor drove by at one point and asked "Do those guys ever take a break?". We were amazed watching the coordination involved. The result is that our fairly large roof was done in one day (a two man crew came out the next day to finish up some odds and ends, clean gutters, etc.) and we were minimally inconvenienced.
